The aim of this practical workshop will be to explore the tools of movement and nonverbal communication in order to gain a deeper understanding of the expressions, qualities and preferences of individuals in the workplace. This concept of embodied attentiveness can enhance the capacity to be psychologically present in consultative and leadership roles. As part of a wider holistic perspective, it will increase the consultant’s understanding of what is being communicated in the individual and/or the group.
Laban Movement Analysis, which offers a detailed vocabulary for recognizing and describing different components of movement, will be used as a framework for this experiential exploration. It will also serve as a tool to help think about the (often unconscious) emotional and psychological patterns which are encountered in any working group.
