Managing the Madness 2

Rising to the challenges of modern organisational life

Friday 20th March 2009

This is our Second Annual Conference focusing on the complexities, challenges and dilemmas inherent in working within an organisation in todayʼs society. Its aim is to provide participants with an increased knowledge of organisational dynamics and how these dynamics can aid, and interfere, with our ability to be productive both in the work task and work relationships.

The conference will provide participants with the chance to reflect upon their work place and working practice and will be relevant to people working at all levels inside and outside organisations. The expectation is that diversity will enhance the experience of all participants. In order to address these issues we have brought together three internationally renowned

Speakers.

Professor Paul Hoggett

As if it were possible to travel lightly: Ethical Dilemmas of Human Service Work

Paul is Professor of Politics and Director of the Centre for Psycho-Social Studies at the University of the West of England, Bristol. He is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and group relations consultant.

Dr Simon Western

Simon has just taken up a new role as Principal Consultant at the Tavistock Consultancy  Service, London. He has worked as a psychotherapist, executive coach, university lecturer, social activist and organisational consultant.

Vega Zagier Roberts

Reconnecting with Passion

She is a Senior Associate of the Health Services Management Centre, School of Social Policy at the University of Birmingham, and Director of the Management and Leadership Programme at the Cassel Hospital, West London Mental Health Trust.
