These two sessions take a fresh look at the structure and function of the brain, with an update on the basic emotions and how brain influences behaviour.The sessions will be of interest to mental health professionals, coaches and consultants working in private practice and within health, education and social services who would like to learn more about how the science of the brain can inform and impact their practice.
Tara Swart is an Oxford trained medic with a PhD in neuro-pharmacology who now runs her own executive coaching business. She has 14 publications and communications in journals of coaching and neuroscience and has spoken at international conferences and on the radio on these topics. She runs the NeuroLeadership Institute group in the UK, and in 1995-6 she taught neuro-anatomy to medical students.
Each session will be from 6.00-9.00pm, and the format will be academically rigorous but relaxed and interactive with slides, demonstration models, posters and discussion of case studies.
The dates will be on the following Thursday 10 June & Thursday 24th June 2010.
The outline content and recommended reading list will be circulated to attendees nearer the time. Places are limited and early application is advisable.
